A place at the table
It all begins with us, our experiences, our memories, our expectations, our comfort zone, our willingness to experience something new, something different.
This collection reflects our interaction with and enjoyment of food in our daily lives, both on an individual level and communally.
It raises questions about our food experiences; do we savour food in solitary silence or do we relish sharing it with friends, family and the broader community? Does the choice of tableware determine quantity or quality? These questions guided Nicoletta in creating this collection of tableware.
Nicoletta designed a range of vessels, some with clear intended uses and others that provoke thought by blurring the line between sculpture and functionality. These pieces may encourage a new perspective on food, prompting us to slow down and appreciate what we are about to consume. Some vessels offer a sense of comfort, fitting snugly in one hand, while others introduce an element of unease. This contrast invites users to reflect on their own food-related experiences and preferences.
